    "KV"- Tier 5 tank of the USSR TT branch. This tank will be remembered for a long time. It is from him, armored and clumsy, that we begin to learn how to play for TT. If before there was no point in hiding behind houses, now you will be in dire need of it. When playing for him, you remember that this tank is bad in attack. very slow and in open areas easy prey for artillery, and in close combat easy prey for CTs that will pick at your stern (rear of the tank) while you turn the hull and turret. And not only STs, but also light tanks (LT) with a good gun and nimble antitanks. Try to keep your distance from the enemy. Learn to be patient and sit on the defensive and anyone who jumps into your line of fire will very quickly turn into a pile of burning metal!

    About the KV and about any tank of level 5, I also note that it is very easy to earn credits on them. And it's not that shells and repairs cost little. If you go to http://www.wotdb.ru/ and right-click on "HF", you can see the 4th tab "Advanced", which, by the way, is not in the game. It has an indicator "Credit Ratio" which is equal to 0.99. This means that you get 99% of the total indicator for a battle on the "KV". For example, for "MS-1" this coefficient is 0.69. All levels have a different coefficient, but for tanks of level 5 it is the highest. To feel the difference, here is a summary of the USSR TT branch:

    Also, starting from the next tank, we accumulate "Free experience" and do not spend it on various improvements. This experience will be used to upgrade the branch of Soviet tank destroyers.

    "KV-3"- Tier 6 tank of the USSR TT branch. A worthy heir to the KV tank. You will have more HP, and in top condition you will have a turret with 130mm frontal armor. Thus, hiding behind a low barrier, you can fire to kill without fear that any of the opponents below level 5 will be able to break through you.

    "IS"- tank of the 7th level of the TT branch of the USSR. Compared to the KV-3, you will feel a loss. the tower will become less durable, but this is more than compensated by its maneuverability. Also, compared to other Tier 7 tanks, the "IS" will dominate significantly. It is also worth noting here that shells will cost from 1k credits per shot, and the game without a premium account will be at a loss. This is the cunning calculation of the game developers so that no one can reach a level 10 tank without buying a premium account.

    "IS-3"- tank of the 8th level of the TT branch of the USSR. This is a wonderful tank. By switching to it, you will begin to feel more confident. compared to the IS, you will again have a strong forehead near the tower, but if the forehead of the KV-3 could be penetrated by opponents above level 6, then the forehead of the IS-3 will be pierced only by tanks of levels 9-10 with top guns. This opens up a completely new opportunity that could not be used before: On the IS-3, you drive at the enemy head-on to ram, so that you stand face to face, while not letting the enemy move back so that the distance between you does not increase. If the enemy is stupid, he will try to break through the forehead of the tower for you. when the tanks stand up, the sight cannot be lowered head-on below the enemy's tower. If the enemy is below level 9 and shoots you at the tower, he will not break through it. And as soon as he makes his shot, you move back on the IS-3 so that the front body of the enemy is visible in the sight, and inflict damage on him, then again press the enemy in the forehead. The procedure is repeated until the enemy is completely destroyed, while if the enemy is squeezed, for example, between the city ruins, then he will not even have a chance to escape. With this tactic, you can defeat many opponents, and even level 9 tanks, without losing HP. About the "IS-3" I will also say that this is a breakthrough tank. Its main task is surprise attacks from the flank. The later the enemy detects you, the more effective your attack will be. For direct attacks, the IS-3 is still rather weak. This initiative will still belong to tier 9 and 10 tanks.

    "IS-4"- tank of the 9th level of the TT branch of the USSR. A decent example of a tier 9 tank. In the stock state, it will seem extremely slow and not agile (I immediately recall the clumsy "KV"). But in top condition, this is an excellent vehicle with a high armor rate (the IS-4 has more armor than the IS-7). The IS-4 also has a relatively slow speed, which is why it is often compared to the German Maus. Moreover, in one of the future updates, they want to make the IS-4 a tier 10 tank. That is why even now many people do not even switch to IS-7, but remain to play on IS-4. Another important factor here is that the repair of the IS-4 costs 17k credits, and the repair of the IS-7 costs 30k credits. That is, if it is still possible to earn money on the IS-4, then on the IS-7 it will no longer work even with a premium account.

    "IS-7"- Tier 10 tank of the USSR TT branch. The strongest heavy tank presented for the side of the USSR. As already mentioned, he has less armor than the IS-4. But this figure is insignificant. But his speed and maneuverability are head and shoulders above. So If the "IS-4" accelerates to a maximum of 35 km per hour, then the "IS-7" can accelerate to 50 km per hour. By the way, this is the highest speed among all Soviet TTs. And that will save him. Given the importance of the IS-7 on the battlefield, it will always be the main target of enemy artillery.     "Ob.704"- Tier 9 tank destroyers of the Soviet branch of the tank destroyer. Possesses one of the strongest guns in the game. The damage from its shells is 2 times higher than that of any tank of level 9 and 1.5 times more than that of tanks of level 10. 2 of his shots are enough to kill the IS-4. 1 shot is enough to send any enemy of level 6 and below to the dump. But high damage isn't everything. At first glance, it may seem that Ob.704 has too little armor (frontal armor of Ob.704 = 120 mm), but in fact it is enough. The fact is that "Ob.704" has a rational angle of inclination of the frontal armor that ricochets most enemy shells. And the armor of "Jagdtiger" and "T95" can be penetrated by knowing the weak points (for this you need to use the skins of penetration, which were mentioned at the very beginning of the guide). The A-20, like the German Leopard, are light-carrying tanks. That is, intelligence that detects enemies. Many novice players make the mistake of thinking that they can do something to help by being in the rear and hiding behind obstacles playing for fireflies. This is a gross mistake. The task of fireflies is one - to shine. As the battle begins, immediately drive to the enemy's base to discover as many enemies as possible. Difficulties will begin with the T-34 ...

    "T-34"- tank of the 5th level of the ST branch of the USSR. Unfortunately, the legendary tank is not shown in the game. in the best way. For most opponents, you will be easy prey. Actually, for this reason, I recommend downloading the ST branch through "KV". But as soon as you switch to the T-34-85, it will become much easier.

    "T-34-85"- tank of the 6th level of the ST branch of the USSR. Unlike its level 5 counterpart, it has significantly higher damage. If the enemy starts to turn the muzzle in the direction of those picking it, the one who distracted it will immediately begin to beat. This is the main combat tactic of ST. Therefore, you should make loyal friends and, together with them in a platoon, coordinating your actions through voice communication, go on a steel hunt!

    "T-54"- tank of the 9th level of the ST branch of the USSR. As soon as you transfer to this tank from the T-44, the game will go into a real pleasure! "T-54" will mark the crown of ST Soviet tanks in the game. It is fast maneuverable, and the rational slope of the armor makes it not yet penetrated. The main thing to remember is the rule: 1 is not a warrior in the field. You only need to ride the T-54 with a pack of wolves with faithful companions. It is also worth noting that the T-54 is not only the best Soviet CT, but also the best CT in the entire game. You can verify this by comparing the main characteristics of ST 9 level of different nations. The German E-50 will be a little faster than the T-54, but it has a much slower turn rate, making the T-54 much more manoeuvrable. In addition, it is much larger than the T-54, which makes it an easy target, but about the fact that the E-50 has weaker damage, it finally puts an end to the dispute. Comparing the T-54 with the American Patton, one can only note that the Patton is even less maneuverable than the T-54, and maneuverability is the main factor in comparing the ST. Therefore, the verdict is simple - the best CT in the game is the T-54.

    Branch Soviet artillery.

    A branch of Soviet artillery can be pumped either directly, or again through the "KV". If we take a branch of Soviet artillery, then it is worth noting that the first soviet self-propelled guns will be relatively fast-firing (on average up to 9 rounds per minute), but towards the end, the shots will become less and less frequent. But the damage will increase significantly.

    General recommendations for all self-propelled guns: Your task on the battlefield is to take a rear position in order to reach the largest part of the map. It is worth noting that many people make the mistake of not following where your allies will go. You need to take a position in that rear part where more allies went to the front line so that it doesn’t turn out that you went where you wanted and were left alone without advanced cover. Having taken a position, remember the same - your goal is the strongest enemy tanks. Be patient, don't waste time reloading on small things. Wait for the main tanks of the enemy to appear and strike at them. A few direct hits on them and you will ensure your team wins.

    Directly on specific self-propelled guns, I will note: the first 4 self-propelled guns with "SU-18" By "SU-8" will have a range that does not cover the entire map. But already with level 6 self-propelled guns "SU-14" And "S-51" you can cover the entire map. Actually, this is where the differences between the ACS end. "Ob.212" And "Ob.261" will differ from their predecessors in their weapon aiming speed, rate of fire, damage and amount of HP. But this does not greatly affect. the task of artillery from a safe distance is to fire at the enemy and hit every time. Such indicators as armor, damage, maneuverability do not matter in comparison with self-propelled guns. in close combat, they do not participate by definition. Therefore, it is impossible to determine which of the tier 8 self-propelled guns is the best, by analogy with tanks of other types.

    In update 9.22, we will bring back to life the most unpopular tanks of the nation by adding new technology and changing the USSR research tree. Why is this needed? "Object 263" and its "younger comrades" rarely participated in battles, as well as the Soviet Level X ST "Object 430", which is not surprising. They were difficult to play. In addition, the cars of different levels differed too much in terms of gameplay.

    We plan to rework the mentioned vehicle branches in order to breathe life into the listed vehicles and make the game on them consistent and understandable. In addition, in version 9.22 you will find new gameplay on heavy tanks of Tiers VIII-X with a rear turret.

    Now let's take a closer look at the changes and the reasons that led to them.

    medium tanks

    Branch A -43 does not give an idea of ​​what car will be played on level X. After getting acquainted with all the advantages and disadvantages of a CT with a rear turret on Tier VII-IX, it was logical to expect similar gameplay on the top of the branch. However, instead you got a classic melee medium tank and were disappointed. Naturally, the popularity of the branch fell.

    If you are in the process of researching the branch that leads to the Object 430, keep in mind that this vehicle will “move” to another branch (which will be upgraded from the T-44) with the release of 9.22. Consider this information.

    What will make you give this thread a second chance? Perhaps what she lacked was gameplay consistency. This is what we focused on in Update 9.22, moving Object 430 to Tier IX. There, he will form a mini-branch of well-armored assault CTs with high one-time damage, pumped from the T-44. And at the X level will appear absolutely new car: "Object 430U".

    A beginner can boast of compact size, decent mobility and good armor. He will easily enter the flank of the enemy, disable his equipment due to the high one-time damage and get out of the fire unscathed.

    The rear turret trio will eventually get a top that will inherit the strong turret armor and offer a logical after "Object 430 Option II" gameplay.


    New branch of heavy tanks

    Until recently, Great Britain and Germany were the only nations where Tier X TTs had a rear turret. Some of you liked these machines, while others preferred a more traditional option. However, few would argue that the FV 215b, Pz.Kpfw. VII and VK 72.01 (K) (which was issued as a game on the Global Map) were uninteresting. In update 9.22, this group will be joined by Soviet technology: A new gaming experience awaits you from the classic Soviet "heavyweights" at levels VIII-X (a branch learned from IS). Classic, but with a rear turret.

However, this is not the main thing - the rear location of the tower is important. In combination with strong armor, good mobility (for this type of vehicle) and a powerful weapon, it will allow you to easily "retank" the enemy.

    Use the advantages of your vehicle and you will be able to effectively support the attack or send enemy tanks breaking through to the Garage. The gameplay of these TTs is something between the game on the Pz.Kpfw. VII and IS-7, but it remains unchanged as the branch is explored. What cannot be said about firepower: from the 122mm gun at Tier VIII to the powerful 152mm gun at the Object 705A.

    Players love the agile T-10 Assault, which quickly shifts the focus of the attack, destroying everything in its path. However, no matter how good it was, it did not fit into the IS-3 and IS-7 group, so we replaced it with the Object 257. Don't worry, the T-10 won't leave the game. Over the years, he has repeatedly proven his effectiveness, so he will receive a mini-branch, where at level X there will be a car with similar gameplay. We continue to work on this newcomer, so we will tell you about it later.


    Alternative tank destroyer branch

    We have long planned to put this branch of tank destroyers in order. A simple change in the parameters of the machines did not give the expected result. We are well aware of the problem, and we have found a new solution for it: rebalancing the branch into medium-melee assault tank destroyers.

    Concept

    • High forward/reverse speed combined with medium maneuverability will allow these vehicles to quickly get to key positions and occupy them, as well as escape from the fire.
    • Good frontal armor is ideal for blocking enemy projectiles, however, the armor on the sides and lower frontal part is rather thin.
    • Average one-time damage and a long cooldown will compensate for mobility and security.
    • Accuracy and aiming time are designed for effective close to medium range combat and are not suitable for firing from a long distance.
    • Not the most comfortable gun depression angles are caused by design features.

    Rebalancing the branch in accordance with the given concept required some structural changes. We started by bringing Object 263 down a level, where it can really shine with its DPM and armor (because it's still the same as it was at Tier X!). The next step is to select the appropriate car for Tier X, and this role fit "Object 268 Option 4". He received good speed, armor and an extremely effective gun with a caliber of 152 mm and an average one-time damage of 650 HP.

    "Object 263" and "Object 268 Option 4" demonstrated excellent results in internal tests. The vehicles well "tanked" the damage and adequately showed themselves as assault tank destroyers - fast, armored, with moderate one-time damage and not too high damage per minute for a tank destroyer.

    You were against moving "Object 263" to the IX level, and we could not ignore it. Therefore, we left both machines for another iteration of closed internal testing. "Object 263" has not changed, but we have reduced one-time damage "Object 268 Option 4" from 750 to 650, keeping the previous damage per minute to smooth out the sharp change in damage per shot and reload speed between Tier VIII and X vehicles.


    The last (and probably the most difficult) task was to customize vehicles at medium levels for the role of assault tank destroyers in close and medium combat. SU-122-54 did not fit into this concept due to the traditional location of the cabin. Here we were faced with a difficult choice: the car was clearly not suitable for the branch in terms of gameplay, but it was important from a historical point of view. We moved her one level down to see how she performs there. Unfortunately, the machine has shown low efficiency in blocking damage even at level VIII and still did not fit into the concept of the branch's gameplay. Therefore, we decided to take the SU-122-54 out of the game and make a branch entirely from vehicles with a rear turret.


    The second iteration of the supertest strengthened our belief that the concept we chose for the branch will give these tank destroyers what they lacked. These should be armored fast vehicles with good one-shot damage, the purpose of which is to lead the breakthrough and provide interesting gameplay. The last guess is based on the supertest data. We want you to test this hypothesis yourself, determine if any more changes are needed, and together we will make the best decision. For three, this is more than 20 tops, the rest are content with fewer branches.

    In World of Tanks, each vehicle has its own style of play. Conventionally, they can be divided into: tanks with armor and "cardboard" tanks without armor; small and "barn"; fast and slow; accurate and oblique; rapid-fire and with a large alpha strike (damage per shot). Also, tanks can have traditional reloading and the so-called drum loading, thanks to which you can fire several shells in a short time, but pay for it with a long reload.

    Tanks with different playstyles have different skill requirements for the player. So, slow tanks with armor forgive the mistakes of their tankers, but a fast light tank or a cardboard medium tank is painfully punishing for inaccurate play. To understand which tanks should not be researched ahead of time, let's try to divide all the vehicles in the game into the appropriate categories by class. Let's start with heavy tanks.

    Heavy tanks

    If you came to World of Tanks to dominate the battlefield and crush everyone with your steel tracks, then heavy tanks are your choice. They combine strong armor, powerful guns and are able to push through directions, "tanking" damage while less armored CTs come in from the flank and rear. But it's not all that simple. In WoT, there are TTs that do not fit the description above.

    For example, French AMXs 50 100 and AMX 50b will give odds to many fast tanks in terms of dynamics and do not have armor. But they have a cannon with a drum for 6 and 4 shells, respectively. This is the choice of experienced players, they can show impressive results on these machines. Whereas a beginner who has opened AMX 50 100 may get disappointed after playing several unsuccessful fights. And the thing is that in the head of an inexperienced player the thought sits: “Hey, I have a fast tank, I need to go to that hill in the center and take it!”. This usually leads to unfortunate consequences.

    Another good example of a branch not for beginners is the British top-end TT FV215b. The path to it is long and thorny - from level 5 to 7 you will have to roll almost the same Churchill with different guns and booking. At level 8, a deplorable, against the background of classmates, Caernarvon (don't break your tongue!) awaits with mediocre armor, dynamics and damage of 230 units per shot. And what does a player who opens a British level 10 TT get? And he gets the most comfortable gun among heavy classmates, good turret armor and slipper-like layout, which imposes its own difficulties on the game. Add to that a 76mm NLD and two HUGE tanks just behind the armor, which leads to fires two or three times per battle. Then you will understand why this tank is so disliked by beginners. But, players with experience, despite all the disadvantages of the car, use it in clan battles on the global map and are very pleased with it.

    The ideal option for mastering the TT class is the Soviet and german branches IS-7 and E 100. IS-7 is a legend of the World of Tanks, the longed-for dream of any tanker. It has an impenetrable turret, good armor, a 130 mm cannon and the famous Soviet "vertukhan" (the ability to hit on the move and without aiming). E 100 is 130 tons of gloomy German genius. The engineers also wanted to create a new type of sights, but in the course of research, development had to be abandoned.

    TTX Panther II changes

    In 1942, German engineers decided to develop an improved model of the sought-after Panther tank, first of all, the changes concerned armor power. The development was carried out in parallel with the second version of the Tiger, and it was decided that the Panther would be the same Tiger, only more overall. The second version received an improved chassis, observation devices, propulsion system. The thickness of the armor also increased from 60 to 100 mm. The Schmalturm tower had internal telescopic rangefinders and infrared devices. The increase in equipment entailed an increase in the dimensions of the machine up to 47 tons. The release was started in 1945 with some changes in the air defense of the tower.
    In the game, the tank received level 8, it can be used as additional support for the allies in the second line. It has a good rate of fire and good maneuvers, but weak armor and a high silhouette, so it can also be a target for self-propelled guns.
