• How to get a job as a flight attendant? Recommendations from Aeroflot flight attendants

    Especially for my live performance and blog post, I interviewed several flight attendants about how to get a job as a flight attendant.

    They responded briefly but to the point.

    These beautiful girls are quite public, popular personalities, so they asked not to indicate their personal data when publishing information from them, so I used fictitious names in the article.

    In principle, they can be understood: I read that flight attendants were fired because of a not very good reputation on the Internet or because they spoke badly about their airline somewhere, because they spoke the truth.

    Aeroflot stewardess Anna's opinion on how to get a job at an airline

    “I would highlight 2 key factors, requirements for flight attendants when applying for a job, which will help you successfully find a job as a flight attendant:

    1. Health. Of course, you don't need to be an astronaut, and it's clear that everyone has their own problems. but in general the body should be in order, no serious diseases.
    2. Knowledge of English. About 2 years ago, they were very picky about the language, now, I understand somewhat, they pay a little less attention precisely at the interview. And so, every year we pass an exam in English. And the assessment directly affects flights and salaries. Other languages are a bonus. It means that it is not necessary to know them, but you will fly more often to those countries whose language you speak. Well, this is if you talk about the requirements quite superficially.
    3. And so I would also note kindness, kindness, smile. In any case, the selection committee already has their own positive image of a flight attendant in their head, and they immediately see whether you are suitable for them or not.

    Of course, there are even requirements such as age or height, for example. They may not even be invited to an interview because of them, but all this is more secondary, again, charm can cross out all this.

    How to pass the selection partly I have already answered: to look like you are already a flight attendant.

    Makeup, hair, formal business style, smile! Goodwill. And confidence. Even if you don’t know something, don’t be silent and get out of the situation.”

    Where to look for current vacancies for the position of a flight attendant?

    “On sites like Head Hunter (hh.ru), if there are any vacancies for flight attendants, then most often this is a scam, which assumes that you will study at some leftist school and it’s not a fact that you will then be employed.

    That is a money scam. The airlines themselves are unlikely to place vacancies there.

    Look for all current vacancies on the official websites of airlines.

    For example, you can look for a job in an airline on the Aeroflot website in the vacancies section: Aeroflot.ru/ru-ru/vac»

    Do I need work experience or training as a flight attendant to start working as a flight attendant?

    “Not all companies have initial training, somewhere they hire experienced ones.

    The best way is to have an interview with the airline first and then have the airline train you.

    That is, for a future stewardess, this is actually not expensive.

    Or you can first unlearn yourself at a prestigious school and only then get a job.

    The only prestigious school for education is the Novokhatskaya school. Of the others, the Aeroflot commission will not even consider it!

    How to get a job as a flight attendant, the opinion of Aeroflot stewardess Anastasia

    “I think it is much easier to qualify in Russia than in such airlines as Qatar Airways or Emirates, etc.

    The main three requirements of the commission for a future stewardess

    • Good health;
    • Height above 165 cm;
    • Intermediate knowledge of English.

    Let me tell you right now that this job is not for everyone.

    Cons of working as a stewardess (flight attendant)

    The main disadvantages are that we have a lot of stress, work at night and work on our feet.

    And yet, after the selection, there will be a medical commission. She is very difficult. Many specialists and a large percentage of girls who want to become flight attendants are eliminated on this commission.

    Delays are unacceptable!

    Lots of new information to learn:

    • how to extinguish fires;
    • how to evacuate passengers;
    • how to provide first aid;
    • know the basics of service on board, etc.

    There will be a major exam at the end of each course. Ratings are very important.

    After training, flights as a trainee follow. That's about five flights!

    The fifth flight will be with an instructor who will evaluate your competent performance. And if she turns out to be really competent, then welcome to the flight attendants!

    Here are the opinions from Aeroflot flight attendants on how to get a job. I confess, I thought that this was an easier job than the girls describe here, but light cheese, as they say, is in the mousetrap.

    I hope this article turned out to be useful for you because these are the opinions of girls who not only got a job at Aeroflot, but also have extensive flying experience, a good reputation and promotions behind them!
